Recently, I found a calligraphy set in a charity shop. It cost me 50 pence and inside I found empty ink cartridges and an old hardened putty rubber … There was also a perfectly functioning Shaeffer fountain pen with four different nibs. This set has clearly been loved and well used, making me wonder who owned it previously, and what they used to write with it!
It inspired me to dig out a book on calligraphy that I seem to have had forever, but never really made use of. I located a fresh ink cartridge, cleaned up all the nibs and got to work. I came up with this piece over the weekend.
I asked for a story and Corvus’ travelling man shared a little secret with me instead. It turns out that he hates to tell stories.
